Our clients, a professional couple from London wanted to update and modernise this property to suit their young growing family’s needs. The build comprised of two phases – initially the refurbishment, remodelling and extension of the main house, followed by a new detached garage block with ancillary accommodation over.

The site is a sensitive one, being a prominent corner plot at the junction of two roads on the edge of the historic Marlow Common Woods, a protected area. The site is also located in The Chilterns AONB.

Aside from using fairly indigenous materials it was decided to give the property a contemporary lift by cladding some of the exterior with burnt Larch. The interior spaces are lofty and dramatic.
