HAA were tasked with completing the late Paul Heighway’s (Jonathan’s father) last project. The original house was a smallish 1950’s chalet bungalow that ignored the river views. The original house was demolished and the new designs incorporated upside down living with a mixture of contemporary and traditional materials and construction techniques. A bat cave was built at the back of the site and the project won a South Devon Building Control Award. The house was renamed by our clients in honour of Paul and the love of his 4B pencil and a piece of paper.
