Sam Appleton

Interior Designer

Sam has 25 years’ experience in the interiors industry and specialises in interior architecture. She is a BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) Registered Interior Designer®

Sam graduated with a BA in silversmithing and ceramics at Camberwell college of Arts, London. After realising she couldn’t afford to live in London as a designer/creator she took a part-time job at Liberty Department Store and whilst working there decided that designing shops would be interesting and went on to complete an HNC in retail design.

Her first career job was working at Chalon UK, a high-end furniture maker producing kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms for high end residential properties. She travelled all over the Home Counties visiting period and country houses, producing surveys and CAD designs.

Her final role at Chalon was to set up and manage an in-house interior design service, which was then rolled out to the various branches and was a great success.

In 2004 Sam moved to Marlow, started a family and continued her career freelancing for other designers. In 2006 she decided to set up her own company ‘Appleton Interiors’ working on residential interiors and some small commercial projects, and she has never looked back.

Sam has worked with HAA clients for over 10 years and is now joining HAA to provide interior architectural services on a project by project basis. Sam can develop the interior of an architects plan producing layouts for kitchens, bathrooms, furniture and lighting. She is an expert at understanding client’s needs and can guide clients to make the right decisions on style and colour for their bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, doors, door furniture and wall finishes.

Sam spends a lot of time with her cocker spaniel (her third child!) and has a real passion for music and dance and can be found strutting moves at her Zumba classes on a regular basis.
