Marlow Winery
HAA was appointed by Harrow & Hope Winery in Marlow to convert their existing tractor shed into new offices and a visitor experience and tasting area. A change of use for the building was secured and planning permission obtained to insert large new windows and external doors, which allowed views from the building over the growing vines.
A new insulated roof was provided as part of the conversion and the internal layout was designed. New large steel doors with reeded glass separate the space for practical use, with a staff office and kitchen on one side and a new bar and tasting area with DDA compliant WC on the other.
For the interior design finishes, we kept the industrial feel of the building and additional lots of textures to make an inviting space, including a large new brick slip wall, modern hanging track lighting, wooden fixtures, and metallic acid paint effect on the internal doors.
The original steel frame was kept exposed and treated with fire-resistant paint, which highlights the bones of the building. New polished concrete floors were installed with underfloor heating, making this practical for a working winery and completing the industrial look. A new shuttered concrete access ramp to the front.
HAA was responsible for the interior design and specification of the fixtures, fittings , and finishes. As part of the works we also redesigned their old staff office in to a new laboratory and visitor WC’s.
